PLEA FOR LIFE - A HEART'S CALL

Children play at my feet,
Hurling stones at the fruits so sweet.
The pain of the stones I endure,
For the love they shower that I secure.

My branches grew to the sun,
And so deep did my claws run.
I am indebted to the Mother Earth,
For her contribution to my growth.

Alas! One day he came,
To strip me off my name.
His cruel axe gleamed with pride.
It took my mom on her final ride.

All the birds at once did flee,
For the woodcutter showed his prowess on me.
Each a stroke, my limbs did fall,
Never a single cry did I call.

My age old breath did at once cease,
To evolve into a vile ash, worth a ten rupees.
Who is answerable to my heart's call?
You, you and you all...

Population=Population*2!!! Is it fine???

Do you long to live in a city like this? The picture itself is appetising, isn’t it? Living in a cosmopolitan city might sound good to hear but the real fun and frolic comes to the fore when you give it a serious thought. How would you feel if your city were to support twice its present population? Let us associate all this to a single familiar term- Urbanization.

The main reason for urbanization is the uncontrolled growth of population. Population rise is on exponential terms and it creates a strong sense of déjà vu in the people living in large cities. Actual problem arises when the bodies that protract the growth of cities themselves depict similar trends of urbanization. In developed countries where extensive farming is practised, it is commercially sustainable for a large scale farmer to go on with his agriculture. But, in a country like India where the condition of farmers is almost deplorable, it is hardly probable for a farmer to let his successor into the same stream. Even, the people undertaking farming right now find it hardly viable to continue. If this scenario continues, the world will head into a terrible state where people will have to drag themselves from pillar to post in search of food and fight for every crust of bread. The very thought is revolting.

Population restrain is the ultimate solution to this crisis. But, another technical way of dealing with this can be by setting up big firms which take up lands for farming and employ men similar to a BPO employing people. Even government can take up such a step by setting up a special organization that would itself be the investor and the manager. This ensures that the agriculture sector is better stabilized to the ups and downs of the market and hence a perpetual inflow of food.

I expect atleast one of my readers to turn into a venture capitalist and take up agriculture on large scale. Let us envisage a brighter future for our country and the world. And spread the word about population control . After all, I would never love my city with double the population and half the resources.

I dont mind it a bit...

Taking off some hard time from my sleep to post this blog after a real tiring day.. We roamed around colleges for about six hours publicizing our college fest. Spent time gathering students and delivering long lectures about the various events featuring in the fest. I find different kinds of people. Sometimes I would find someone in the crowd completely immersed in the topic. Some display an immediate show of enthusiasm, start asking questions and indulge in slightly exaggerated discussions. Some others would ensure their safety standing amidst human walls without muttering a word. And the last kind I would mention is that group of timid people who silently derive fun out of the speaker who has ignorantly exposed himself to become the victim of unpublished, uncensored remarks.
So what? What's wrong in that? Life is all about enjoying... Make out a smile from whatever possible...
One who would have bothered me with a hundred questions might not attend the fest! What's more? The conjuring joker might become the hero of my cherished fest... I dont mind it at all...
